Mattel’s Levitating Baby Yoda Figure Is for the Ultimate ‘Star Wars’ Fan

Mattel is giving you the opportunity to take your Star Wars fandom to another level. Currently up for auction on eBay is an extremely rare Baby Yoda figure positioned in a hover pram that actually spins and levitates.

Baby Yoda, also known as “the Child,” quickly became the star of the show in Disney’s recent Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. Here, we find the character sitting in a hover pram that floats two-and-a-half inches off its base.

The collectible, which is not available at retail, is up for grabs on eBay until Friday, March 5 at 9:00 a.m. PT when the bidding closes. Mattel will be giving all proceeds from the auction to ProjectArt, an organization that works in partnership with public libraries to empower young artists all across the country.

“The fan-favorite character ‘the Child,’ introduced in The Mandalorian, served as the perfect inspiration for Mattel Creations to design this ultimate levitating pram for a whole new generation of fans,” said Richard Dickson, President and COO of Mattel. “Mattel Creations is also dedicated to giving back to the next generation of creators, which is why ProjectArt is the perfect partner to support through this collaboration, not only by donating an item for their auction, but also by funding ProjectArt’s Los Angeles chapter for 2021 and connecting Mattel designers with students to cultivate creativity.”

In addition to the exclusive Baby Yoda figure (above), Mattel is releasing a similar collector’s edition of the Child in a floating pram (below). It comes with accessories inspired by The Mandalorian, including a control knob and Chowder Squid. The Baby Yoda collectible will be available only on Mattel Creations beginning March 5.
